With the statement of the Minister of Defense Irakli Alasania the collaboration of Georgia with USA is independent. As Alasania stated after the meeting of the government the strategic military collaboration of Georgia with USA is developing in bilateral format, reports GHN.
"It is natural we would like to see more support to Ukraine and it happened, but our strategic collaboration continues in bilateral format. Senate to have to decide it. In this case those countries that have more fragile relations with NATO are grouped together and it will be good if this decision will be made. But there exists strategic charter of strategic collaboration that contains security and defense. This collaboration has already begun. So I don't see problems in future," stated Alasania.
Committee of Foreign Relations of Senate adopted the draft of the law about Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova that recognizes these not NATO member countries as key allies. After final adoption of the draft of the law the administration of the government of America will have possibility to impose new sanctions to Russian military and energy companies and to provide military assistance to Ukraine.
The draft of the law should be adopted in House of Representatives. The draft of the law also takes into account providing Ukraine with defense arms, among them - the anti-tank weapons and ammunition group and also radar system to detect enemy positions. Also there is considered providing with unmanned aircraft and communications systems. There is planned to allocate 350 million US dollars from the budget of USA. The document also considers allocation of 10 million US dollars for resistance to Russian propaganda for former Soviet countries during three years.
With the statement of the President of USA Barack Obama Ukraine as not member country of NATO will not receive the status of key partner of USA because it already has such kind of status, said Poroshenko after the meeting with Barack Obama in an interview with CNN.
