A few days before the visit of the Russian president to Washington, U.S. senior official has reiterated support to Georgia`s territorial integrity and its political course.
`The United States wishes to improve its relations with Russia, however, it will not happen on the expense of its friend countries,` Philip Gordon, assistant secretary of state for Europe and Asia, announced at the meeting in the Marshall Foundation yesterday.
Gordon said the U.S. has close cooperation with the NATO for the protection of the interests of Central European states. `We have even prepared a new anti-missile defence system,` Gordon said.
Reportedly, the participants of the meeting discussed the obligations of the international agreements, ignored by Russia.
