The officers of MIA Emergency Situations Management Department along with Special Operations Department have held joint training at Batumi International Airport under the initiative of Aviation Security Department of Airports. In the mentioned training representatives of "Airzena" company, aviation manufacturers and TAV Georgia were involved, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the training information center of the airport was informed about the presence of bomb in the airplane which was ready to take off. On the basis of the above mentioned situation the training was initiated. According to previously elaborated action plan airport rescue team, Emergency Situations Management Department and Special Operations Department were mobilized.
Officers of MIA Emergency Situations Management Department evacuated airplane passengers after which airplane was transferred to the secured area. Employees of Special Operations Department have detected and neutralized bomb in the airplane.
Aim of the mentioned training is to check operability and skills of relevant MIA units during the crises situations and to test how the relevant units coordinate during similar situations. Simiar training was held for the first time in April of the current year at Tbilisi International Airport. Similar training is also planned to be held in the nearest future at Kutaisi International Airport.
