Poland may provide Ukraine with weapons, but along with other European countries.
New Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz said this on Friday, reports GHN based on Ukrinform.
"As soon as a big European family decides that it wants to help Ukraine [with weapons], then, of course, we will have to provide this assistance, but along with other European countries," Kopacz said.
She said that in the supply of arms to Ukraine Poland should behave like "a reasonable woman." "Our country, our home and our children are the most important things, which does not mean that we should speak with other voice than the EU. Instead, I believe that today we should not compete for the right to be a party to this conflict," Kopacz said.
She stressed the need to care about the security of the Polish borders, and if it is necessary to provide someone with military assistance, this should be better done near the Polish borders.
"This follows from the fact that we still little imagine how dangerous terrorism has recently become. We must protect ourselves from it, but it should be remembered whose shirt is the nearest to the skin. Therefore, if I had to choose, I would bet on solid support with other European countries of our neighbors [Ukraine] in this conflict with Russia," she said.
