United States Secretary of Army John McHugh arrived in Georgia for two-day long official visit today, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
Deputy Defense Minister Mikheil Darchishvili met the U.S. guest at Tbilisi International Airport and wished him a successful meeting to Georgia. Head of International Relations and Euro-Atlantic Integration Department of MoD David Nardaia and U.S. Defense Attaché to Georgia, Colonel Mathew Dimmick also greeted the U.S. official at the airport. Within the visit to Georgia, Defense Minister Irakli Alasania will receive U.S. Secretary of Army at the Ministry of Defense. The sides will refer to the U.S.-Georgia defense cooperation and future prospects. U.S. support in the implementation of Substantial Package that Georgia received as a result of NATO Summit in Wales will be one of the main topics at the meeting. Tomorrow U.S. Secretary of Army will visit Davit Agmashenebeli National Defense Academy. John McHugh will also participate in wreath lying ceremony for the memory of the Georgian heroes fallen for territorial integrity. U.S. Secretary of Army will end his official visit to Georgia on September 22.
