In Kiev there was held evening to commemorate Giorgi Gongadze. Friends of Gongadze and representatives of the society lighted candles in his honor, reports GHN.
There was marked that Giorgi Gongadze became the symbol of journalists that died while fighting for the truth.
With the initiative of the society and support of Kiev City Hall there was opened memorial of journalists who died because of their profession.
We remind that Giorgi Gongadze was killed in 2000. In 2008 Court of Appeal of Kiev found three officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine guilty in his murder.
