In the informative analytical program "Vremia" of the Russian TV company "Pervi Kanal" there was reported TV program concerning Russian Ukrainian relations (September 21, 22:00), reports GHN.
It was marked that after collapse of Soviet Union Russia and the west made agreement that NATO wouldn't expand to the east:
"Europe has to remember that promise that gave to Moscow: NATO wouldn't touch former Warsaw agreement member countries, but soon they became members of Northern Atlantic Alliance. Now Anders Fogh Rasmussen states that this is time to receive Georgia and Ukraine if NATO... finally Europe has to understand that Russia couldn't stand it all and that Russian would react on," stated the member of Euro Parliament from Austria Avald Shtadler.
Yesterday the journalist of CNN Farid Zakaria talked with 42th President of USA Bill Clinton. He denied that expansion of NATO provoked invasion of Russia in Georgia and Ukraine: "You know that it is not right to say that "You persuaded me to attack Georgia or Ukraine because these two countries that are my neighbors shouldn't be the members of NATO"... let's talk seriously! It is impossible to believe in... I have never said to Russians that NATO wouldn't expand. While my pre election campaign I supported expansion of NATO," - stated Bill Clinton. He confirmed that this issue was agreed with the President of Russia at that time Boris Eltsin. "I said to him: I know, I believe that you will not attack Eastern Europe but you are not eternal." Bill Clinton stated that Boris Eltsin was best President of Russia for USA. In an interview the former leader of America remembered that when Ukraine refused to nuclear arsenal Russia went as guarantee of security and territorial integrity of Ukraine and also signed proper document. "Now the President of Russia Vladimer Putin refuses to fulfill these obligations and says that this document is ordinary convention but not agreement," stated Bill Clinton.
