Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze paid a two-day working visit to the Ukraine, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze was invited by his Ukrainian counterpart Lieutenant General Viktor Muzhenko. Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces attended the demonstration training of the multinational military exercise "Rapid Trident 2014" arranged for distinguished visitors. One platoon of the I Infantry Brigade of the Georgian Armed Forces is taking part in the multinational battalion-level field training "Rapid Trident 2014" underway at the International Peacekeeping and Security Center (IPSC) in Yavoriv, Ukraine. In the framework of the visit Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze met with the Ukrainian Defence Minister Colonel General Valeriy Heletey. At the meeting the sides discussed the bilateral cooperation issues between Georgia and the Ukraine and prospects of future cooperation.
