On the 21st of September 2014, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr Vakhtang Jaoshvili presented his credentials to the President of Somalia, Mr Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The President thanked the Ambassador for this step aimed at the strengthening of relations with Somalia, welcomed the appointment of the non-resident ambassador and noted that Mogadishu takes a close interest in the development of cooperation with Georgia.
The Ambassador emphasized the Georgian Government's desire to deepen relations with the African countries. Georgia is making its own contribution to the strengthening of stability throughout the continent by taking part in the EU-led operation in the Republic of Central Africa.
The Georgian Ambassador provided the President of Somalia with detailed information regarding the existing situation in Georgia emphasizing the Georgian Government's readiness to share with Somalia its experience in the area of reforms.
