Another part of the Special Mountain Battalion of the Georgian Armed Forces returned from Afghanistan to homeland, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
Special Mountain Battalion was serving at the Kandahar Air Base during six months. Under the U.S Command the Georgian military were carrying out the full spectrum of operations. 151 military servicemen were welcomed back home by Deputy Chief of the General Staff, COL Roman Jokhadze at Alekseevka military aerodrome. He congratulated the soldiers on peaceful returning to homeland and expressed gratitude for successful fulfillment of ISAF mission. Under the U.S Command the Georgian military were carrying out the full spectrum of operations. Special Mountain Battalion returned home without suffering any casualties. All personnel of the battalion will arrive in Georgia in a few weeks.
