Ukraine will continue to fulfill its obligations as a natural gas transit country.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said this while opening the 12th meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community in Kyiv on Tuesday, reports GHN based on Ukrinform.
"I want to assure you that Ukraine is a strong transit country. We will ensure transit. And for this reason we ask our European partners to have direct relations with Ukrainian companies engaged in gas transit, and it follows from the third energy package. And this is what we all need - to have direct relations. Ukraine is ready to implement and execute all its commitments signed between Ukraine and the European Union," Yatseniuk said.
