At the first session of the Tbilisi Sakrebulo (City Assembly), the chairperson Zaal Samadashvili handed over symbolic keys to the city to the elected mayor Gigi Ugulava.
Gigi Ugulava opened the session of the Sakrebulo and spoke about his priorities as the mayor. He said creating new jobs for the Tbilisi residents would be his top task and he would do his best to cut the number of unemployed people, improve the living conditions to the vulnerable by refining the social programs, making health care more affordable and improvement of infrastructure in the city.
Gigi Ugulava presented a 120-day action plan, which is the first part of his four-year term. He said that finishing elections does not mean finishing to work, adding everything was beginning today. Gigi Ugulava pledges to be the mayor of every resident of the capital.
The diplomats, opposition MPs and other municipal authorities were attending the inauguration of the Tbilisi mayor.
