The situation in Ukraine caused by Russian aggression will be priority issue of the speech of Jens Stoltenberg who will take the position of Secretary General on October 1. He made the remarks at the Norwegian Telegraph Bureau, reports GHN.
"The seriousness of the situation in Ukraine is confirmed by the fact that military power is used for the change of state borders. Ukraine is partner of NATO, besides it has border with NATO members countries," stated Stoltenberg and marked that the issue to return in old format the collaboration between NATO and Ukraine is not discussed.
"Returning collaboration in old format is not discussed. Russia took the decision to realize more aggressive actions. That's why we can't strengthen our partnership with Russia as we planned before. The example of Norway as the member of NATO that make modernization of armed forced shows that power and strength is necessary condition for dialogue with Russia," states Stoltenberg.
