Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed law No. 1657-VII on the introduction of amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine regarding the simplification of imports of defense products, reports GHN based on Ukrinform.
"The adoption of this act will help simplify imports of defense products to the customs territory of Ukraine during a special period, the state of emergency and during the anti-terrorist operation, through the exemption from duties of defense products, according to the list established by the Cabinet Ministers of Ukraine," reads the document.
According to the explanatory note, "there are no rules and procedures in the draft act that may include risks of corruption offenses," therefore the document does not require a public anti-corruption examination.
It is noted that the duties on defense goods do not allow the Defense Ministry to fully and quickly carry out tasks on repelling armed aggression.
