On the 25th of September 2014, Georgia and Benin signed a protocol on the establishment of diplomatic and consular relations, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The protocol was signed on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly by the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of Benin to the United Nations.
According to this protocol, mutual relations between the two countries - which are both striving to establish mutually beneficial friendly relations - will be guided by the principles of national sovereignty, sovereign equality, territorial integrity and the inviolability of state borders.
