Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia is paying a working visit to the Republic of Estonia. Within the frames of the visit, Deputy Minister Mikheil Darchiashvili met NATO Supreme Allied Commander Transformation General Jean-Paul Paloméros under the annual Baltic Conference on Defence in Tallinn, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia in Estonia Tea akhvlediani attended the meeting. The sides discussed NATO Wales Summit results as well as the regional security environment. The sides focused on the importance of the role of NATO Allied Command Transformation in the process of implementing the Substantial Package granted to Georgia at the Summit. General Jean-Paul Paloméros expressed readiness to support Georgia in the timely and effective realization of the supportive measures under the Substantial Package envisaging "enhanced opportunities" of cooperation with NATO. Supreme Allied Commander Transformation thanked the Georgian side for the important contribution provided in strengthening global security and stability. NATO Allied Command Transformation is implementing NATO training and educational programs with the help of NATO countries national training infrastructure. Under the visit in Estonia, Deputy Minister Mikheil Darchiashvili plans to hold meetings with his counterpart Sven Sakov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament of Estonia..dpuf
