The delegation of the General Staff of the GAF, led by Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze, held the first official visit to the Hellenic Republic, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
Chief of General Staff of the GAF was hosted by his Greek counterpart, General Mikhail Kostarakos. The official welcoming ceremony was held at the drill ground of National Defence Ministry of Greece. At the meeting the sides talked about deepening bilateral cooperation in defence sphere between Georgia and Greece. They focused on military education as well. Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze proposed his Greece counterpart to train Greek military servicemen in Sachkhere Mountain Training School. The representatives of the General Staff of the Hellenic Republic delivered a presentation on the structure of Greece Armed Forces to their Georgian guests. Within the visit, Chief of General Staff of the GAF also met with Alternet Minister of National Defence Fofi Gennimata. She once more expressed the support from the Hellenic Republic to Georgia's aspirations towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration. The sides also referred to the importance of the Substantial Package Georgia received at NATO Summit in Wales.
