On the 29th of September 2014 first meeting of the Joint Co-operation Committee was held between Georgia and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) (Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein).
Discussions focused on measures aimed at the further development of economic relations including on the possibility of launching talks regarding the establishment of free trade area between the sides, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting from the Georgian side was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the Foreign Ministry.
The Georgian Foreign Ministry was represented at the meeting by the Head of the International Economic Relations Department, Mr Ioseb Nanobashvili. The first meeting of the Joint Co-operation Committee between Georgia and the EFTA was held within the frames of the Joint Co-operation Declaration signed by the sides in 2012
