The remote resort of Shovi, Racha Region, is still isolated from the rest of the Georgia`s regions. The mud stream has collapsed a bridge connecting the village of Glola to the Oni Region. Nine cottages of a tourist base have been completely ruined, eight - damaged.
Two other cottages also face danger of collapse; therefore, the families have been evacuated from them. Tractors and bulldozers have been sent to the place of the disaster; however, no rehabilitation works are possible until the weather improves.
The special commission will count the damage, the government will allocate funds for reconstruction, and rehabilitation works in a few days.
The tourist season opens in Racha on July 15, however, some tourists have travelled to the region by paths.
