The introduction of effective mechanisms for donor coordination in government of Georgia - two-day seminar on this issue will be held by the Government Administration on October 2-3.
The aim of seminar is to increase the coordination efficiency between the government administration and the ministries, reports GHN based on the Press Service of the Prime Minister.
According to the Deputy Head of the Government Nino Kobakhidze, the participants of the seminar will discuss the establishment of effective mechanisms for donor coordination, effective use of aid and effective communication elaboration of development agencies of friendly countries, as well as to share each other visions and plans for the future.
According to Nino Kobakhidze, the government administration is actively working to improve the coordination and strategic planning.
"Policy Analysis, Strategic Planning and Coordination Department is a very important structure that has not existed before. Its work is aimed to increase the efficiency of government and at strengthening the institutions.
The Department will provide consolidation of activities that are considered by the government program, timely implementation and at the same time, promote departmental coordination. The structure is highly appraised by our European and American partners. "The "Sigma" is actively working with us, which is a joint initiative of the European Union and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development", - Mrs. Kobakhhidze stated.
The department of Policy analysis, strategic planning and coordination joins three horizontal units - service of Government plans and innovation, Donor Coordination Department and External Relations Division.
Donor coordination is a part of strategic planning, which has an important role in an issue of government efficient functioning. Donor activity coordination means providing compliance of governmental priorities by the development partners and avoiding the duplication activities.
The seminar, which is moderated by the Government Administration, will be attended by the representatives of 19 ministries and the Prime-Minister's Office. The event is held with support of the UN Development Programme and the Swedish government.
