On the 2nd of October 2014, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze met the Director of Operations for Europe and Central Asia of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mr Laurent Corbaz. The meeting was also attended by the representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Georgia, Ms Biljana Milošević, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Talking points included current issues of co-operation; humanitarian situation in Georgia's occupied territories; and in this context, the need of active involvement of international organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross in Georgia. Ms Milošević informed Mr Panjikidze on the current projects and future plans; and underlined the significance of meeting of directors of the Red Cross offices for Europe and Central Asia, which is currently held in Georgia.
The Georgian Minister thanked the ICRC for its work in Georgia's territory and underlined the importance of humanitarian activity carried out by this organisation.
