The 51st Battalion of V Infantry Brigade of the Georgian Armed Forces has already left for Afghanistan, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
Georgian military will carry out ISAF mission on the Baghram Base under the U.S. Command for the next 6 months. At this stage the personnel of the 51st Battalion is undergoing the final training under the leadership of Georgian and American instructors. Allocation of the Georgian soldiers is underway according to the plan. The Georgian soldiers went through intensive pre-deployment preparation for the ISAF mission throughout 5 months at National Training Center "Krtsanisi". The Georgian contingent underwent the mission oriented preparation in the German city of Hohenfels as well. The experts evaluated the level of preparedness of Georgian military positively.
