A total of 3,627 people have been killed (including 298 from flight MH17) and 8,447 more have been wounded since the beginning of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine as of September 30, according to a new report issued by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, reports GHN based on Ukrinform.
According to UN, some 5.1 million people live in conflict-affected areas, 379,059 moved to other regions in Ukraine, and more than 426,995 fled to neighboring countries.
The report says that although more than three weeks have passed since the September 5 ceasefire agreement, serious ceasefire violations are reported daily and shelling has intensified in parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
