Ukrainian troops in the past 24 hours repelled all attacks by terrorists on the Donetsk airport and killed 12 terrorists.
Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
"The Donetsk airport remains a priority goal for terrorists. Militants resorted to several unsuccessful attempts to assault the airport, and then they continued to shell it. Our troops repulsed all attacks and killed another 12 terrorists," he said.
According to Lysenko, during the assault on the airport attackers used smoke bombs, and after that the social networking sites started spreading information about the use of gas. "We once again urge people not to spread unverified information, which harm the military, including those who heroically defend the airport," he said.
As reported, Ukrainian military in the Donetsk airport received reinforcements on October 3, and a partial rotation was conducted.
