The delegation of the Parliament of Georgia under the leadership of the chairman of the Committee for European Integration Viktor Dolidze will take part in the working process of autumn conference of OSCE parliamentarian assembly - "New Challenges of the Security - the Role of the Parliaments," reports GHN.
On the first day there was discussed the crisis of Ukraine. As Viktor Dolidze stated Russia has decided to change military-political conjuncture of Europe and in spite of the fact that decisions of Istanbul Summit in 1999 was considered as cornerstone of security of Europe, Russian Federation stopped participation in conventional contract agreement (CFE) that was followed with the occupation of Georgia, Moldova and now Ukraine. With the statement of the chairman of the Committee of the European Integration of Georgia everything should have named. As he said the events in Ukraine is Russian military aggression and intervention in neighbor country. Viktor Dolidze called on Russian side to perform international obligations and called on international community to be more active.
The Vice President of OSCE parliamentarian assembly and the member of the Parliament of Georgia Giorgi Tsereteli talked about the processes in Ukraine and about the problem of the security of Europe and stated that discussion and dialogue in the frame of OSCE parliamentarian assembly is important.
"In spite of the agreement there are still clashes on the territory of Ukraine and people die, it is aggression of Russia on the territory of Ukraine. If we want to change this and to make performing of OSCE decisions effective there is necessity to change principle of "Consensus-1", stated Giorgi Tsereteli while delivering speech.
The members of the delegation supported the proposal of the delegation of Ukraine for creation on the Russian-Ukrainian border tripartite monitoring group - "Russia-Ukraine-OSCE".
In the frame of the autumn conference of OSCE parliamentarian assembly the delegation of Georgian Parliament held bilateral meetings with the secretary general of OSCE Lamberto Zanie and President of Assembly Ilka Kanerva. Viktor Dolidze talked about implemented reforms, about security threats, about strengthening of the role of OSCE in region and Euro Atlantic processes. The chairman of the Committee of Euro Integration offered the chiefs of the OSCE Parliamentarian Assembly to held 2016 session of Assembly in Georgia, Batumi. The chiefs of the OSCE Parliamentarian Assembly supported the idea and stated that they will discuss this subject with the Germany as OSCE 2016 chairman country and the decision will be made after this.
Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Burab Abashidze, the President of the Parliamentarian Assembly and the member of the Parliament of Georgia Giorgi Tsereteli and the member of the Parliament Levan Dejhashvili are in the delegation of Parliament of Georgia.
