The deputy Minister of Defense paid two day official visit in Romania. Mikheil Darchiashvili attended the conference organized by The Aspen Institute and German Marshall Fund (GMF). Civil servants, representatives of international organizations, non-governmental sector and research centers discussed issues of Euro Atlantic security and modern challenges, reports GHN.
Mikheil Darichiashvili delivered the speech "New world after Ukraine crisis, 25 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall." On the forum there were discussed aggressive politics and actions of Russia that threatens to the architecture of Euro Atlantic security.
The deputy Minister of Defense underlined importance of the decisions made on NATO Wales Summit in the sphere of strengthening Euro Atlantic security. He expressed hope that allies will provide with effective and timely implementation of the decision made on the summit.
In the frame of the visit Mikheil Darchiashvili held bilateral meetings with Romanian colleague Valeriu Nikut and Deputy Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurelius. On the meetings there were discussed bilateral collaboration of the sphere of defense, the results of NATO Wales summit and issues of regional security. The special attention was paid to the participation of Romanian side in the process of implementation of supportive measures that is considered by essential package of NATO-Georgia.
