In the frame of collaboration package of NATO-Georgia, Georgia and Lithuania will carry joint military trainings, it was marked on the meeting between the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli garibashvili and the Minister of Defense of Lithuania Juozas Olekas, reports GHN.
The sides discussed the prospects of multilateral cooperation. The special attention was paid to the collaboration in the sphere of defense, among them was underlined importance of military education.
As it was marked on the meeting between the Ministries there acts Memorandum of Understanding. The Ministry of Defense of Georgia also collaborats with the NATO energy security center located in Lithuania and participates in different events held in the frame of the center. The leader of the government of Georgia thanked the Minister of Lithuania for friendly and partnership relations between Lithuania and Georgia. As he said the government of Lithuania is committed to supporting the priorities of Foreign Politics of Georgia and helps to achieve foreign policy aims; also tries to support political and economic stability of the country, strengthening of democratic institutes and statehood. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia Oinas Paslauskas, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania, the Minister of Defense of Georgia Irakli Alasania, Acting Chief of the General Staff of Armed Forces Brigadier General Vladimer Chachibaia, Deputy Defense Minister Mikheil Darchiashvili, secretary of State Security and Crisis Management Mindia Janelidze and the head of Department of International Relations and Euro Atlantic Integration of the Ministry of Defense Davit Nardania.
