Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland have discussed in Kyiv the possibility of increasing U.S. macro-financial assistance to Ukraine, reports GHN based on Ukrinform.
"The sides discussed the possibility of increasing macro-financial assistance to Ukraine from the United States and the need in this context to adopt a presidential anti-corruption package."
In continuation of the agreements that were reached during Poroshenko's visit to Washington on September 18 with U.S. President Barack Obama, the sides also discussed the expansion of military and technical cooperation between Ukraine and the United States and Ukrainian security sector reform.
Poroshenko thanked the U.S. president and government for "very strong support for Ukraine on its way to freedom and democracy."
