October 7 the Minister of Culture and Monument Protection Mikheil Giorgadze paying official visit in Frankfurt, reports GHN.
With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection and National Center of Georgian Book on October 8-12, 2014 in Frankfurt on International Book Fair Georgia will be represented with national stand. The visit is the first official visit of Georgian delegation in rank of future honored guest (in 2018 Georgia will be presented as honored guest country on Frankfurt Book Fair). In the frame of the visit there is planned official meetings of the Minister and director of National Canter of Georgian Book Dea Metreveli with the organizers of Frankfurt Book Fair, also with foreign editions, literature agencies and representatives of international organizations. Mikheil Giorgadze will held meeting with the head of Culture Service of Frankfurt Felix Zemelrot. In the frame of the fair the Minister will deliver the speech on international summit "Challenges in the Sphere of Education and Culture Policy."
With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection and the National Center of Georgian Book with organization of Publishers and Booksellers Association of Georgia in 2014 Georgia will represent bigger renewed national stand and many interesting presentation on Frankfurt of Book Fair. This year of Frankfurt Book Fair there is registered 19 Georgian publishers. On October 8-9 in the frame of the fair there is planned presentation of the German translation of novel of Dato Turashvili "Jeans Generation". The book was published by German publishing house Wagenback Verlag with the support of National Center of Georgian Book in September 2014. The design of new national stand with modern design and traditional Georgian signs was chosen after the competition that was organized by Association of Georgian Publishers.
It is already 500 years Frankfurt Book Fair is the most big book fair in the world where thousands of publishers, literature agents, writers and literature experts take part. Every year on the exhibition there is represented hundred thousand books and new editions. The forum hosts nearly 400 000 foreign guests every year.
