Presidents Petro Poroshenko of Ukraine, Vladimir Putin of Russia, Francois Hollande of France and German Chancellor Angela Merkel could hold a meeting as part of the Asia-Europe summit (ASEM) in Milan next week, reports GHN based on Ukrinform.
"The Russian president will visit Italy next week to attend the ASEM summit. In this regard, he is to hold a series of meetings with Western partners, at which Ukraine will be a key subject. A meeting in the Normandy format - between Putin, Merkel, Hollande, and Poroshenko - is not ruled out," he said.
According to Ushakov, the leaders of Germany, France, Britain and representatives of the European Commission are planning to come to Milan.
A meeting between the Russian president, the German chancellor, as well as the presidents of France and Ukraine was held in Normandy on June 6 during events marking the 70th anniversary commemorations of the World War II Normandy landings.
