The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has denied reports that the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone could be expanded to the territory of Kharkiv region, reports GHN based on Ukrinform.
Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing on Thursday.
"According to official figures from SBU, there are no plans to expand the ATO zone. Media reports about the extension [of the combat zone] contain false information," he said.
As reported, Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for War Veterans and ATO Participants Artur Derevianko said at a press conference that the Ukrainian Security Service was considering including some districts of Kharkiv region in the area of the anti-terrorist operation.
