National food Agency is moving to a new office equipped with modern technologies. The new building was opened by Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili with the Minister of Agriculture, Otar Danelia. Prime Minister was introduced with a working process in a new office and spoke with the agency staff, reports GHN based on press service of the Prime Minister.
Head of Government was explained in the ministry, that as a result of the new government approach changes, the funding of National Food Agency was increased. In addition, the activities implemented in this year by the agency significantly exceed the data of previous year. The number of inspections in the institutions has been increased; a great attention is paid to the school and preschool feeding unit control;
"In all the normal state, which caring on their population, the food safety control is takes place. We care on our population. In the agreement DCFTA the measures, which should be taken by the National food agency, are paid a great attention. For years, this service was left without function. The approach of the former government is that the market will regulate itself, what is impossible," Prime Minister stated.
Irakli Garibashvili focused on the involvement of the minister of agriculture and declared that the National Food Agency has all the condition to meet food safety. As Prime Minister stated, this is the national security issue. Throughout in Georgia, 13 new regional offices of the food safety will be opened. In the agency about 500 people are hired.
