Washington is trying to convince Russia to withdraw its forces from Georgia`s regions,` Michael McFaul, President Obama's top Russia adviser has announced.
He said the Obama administration would keep on discussing the issues of Abkhazia and South Ossetia with Moscow, adding the long-term goal of the administration is to convince Russia pull out its forces from these regions.
Deputy assistant of president Obama in national security issues Ben Rods has also confirmed that Washington had differences with Russia regarding the issue of Georgia, reiterating support to Georgia`s sovereignty. He also stated that despite these differences, Washington could cooperate with Russia in the issues of bilateral interest.
