The Prime Minister of Georgia met with the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach. The parties discussed the Georgian Olympic Movement and the role of Georgian Sport in International Olympic Movement, reports GHN based on press service of the Prime Minister.
The meeting focused on 2015 European Youth Olympic Festival XIII and its preparatory activities. According to the Prime Minister, Tbilisi is the first among post-Soviet space, who is honored to be a host of the festival, what shows a great confidence of European Olympic Committee.
The Head of the Government thanked the guest for the attending the event regarding 25th Anniversary of Georgian National Olympic Committee.
"We see it as a respect and appreciation to Georgian Olympic Team, to our honored sportsmen, as well as your support for the Olympic Movement in Georgia", - the Prime Minister said.
After the meeting the Head of the Georgian Olympic Committee Leri Khabelov presented the Prime Minister an anniversary commemorative medal and souvenir of the Georgian National Committee 25th anniversary.
The meeting was attended by the European Olympic Committee President Patrick Hickey and Sport and Youth Affairs Minister of Georgia Levan Kipiani.
