October 23-27 Tbilisi will host 17th jazz-festival. As today the Mayor of City Hall Davit Narmania stated on the joint press-conference of the organizer of the festival "Eastern Promotion," TBC Bank and Ministry of Culture in the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection the jazz-festival in Tbilisi is very important. The Mayor of Tbilisi underlined growing interest of tourists towards the capital. As he said in jazz-festival there participate not only invited guests but also successful Georgian musicians who act abroad, reports GHN.
"Such kind of events will make Tbilisi as regional cultural center and we have such kind of healthy ambition and we do everything for this," stated Davit Narmania.
In the jazz-festival will participate Roy Ayers, Al Di Meola, David Fiuczynski, Stanley Clarke Band, Michel Camilo Trio, Andy Sheppard Quartet, George Mel Quartet and Anat Cohen Quartet.
Stanley Clarke begins Euro tour together with Georgian musician Beka Gochiashvili from Georgia in the frame of jazz-festival. Together with David Fiuczynski will play pianist Giorgi Mikadze. From New York for the jazz-festival will arrive Georgia jazz performer Giorgi Melikishvili. After 20 years of pause he will be represented to the Georgian listener first time.
This year first time in the frame of jazz-festival in the entrance of Tbilisi Concert Hall will he held exhibition-sale "All That Jazz" and National Gallery will host the exhibition of French photographer Christian Rose.
