Another step forward was made in terms of strengthening energy system of Georgia- Today the Paravani hydro electric plant has been opened in Samtskve-Javakheti, reports GHN based on the Press service of the Prime Minister.
87-megawatt power plant, which was built by investment from Turkish "Anadolu Group" , was opened by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili together with Deputy Prime Minister Kakha Kaladze, Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz and representatives of the company.
"By the operation of "Paravanhesi" the generating of electricity will be increased by 410 m k/h, and this will be the significant progress in Georgian energy sector.
I would like to point out that such a powerful power plant has been constructed in our country for the first time in the last 35 years. More than $ 200 million was invested in the construction of the plant, which is really a significant investment made by our Turkish partners. The interest of investors toward Georgian energy resources is continuing to grow and I am sure, every next project will strengthen the energy system of our country and help the growth of energy security in Georgia,"- Irakli Garibashvili stated while delivering a speech at the opening ceremony.
The prime minister underlined that all decisions in the direction of assimilating energy resources are based on qualified analyze and Georgian government will develop energy sector without any gaps.
