The workshop "Georgia on the Path of NATO Membership" is going on in Besik Kutateladze Sachkhere Mountain Training School, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
The aim of the two-day training is to get the media representatives informed about the ongoing process of Georgia`s NATO integration. The Head of Information Centre on NATO and EU Elene Gotsadze opened the workshop. Georgia`s aspiration to become the member of NATO, new challenges and perspectives, current reforms in defence sector and the NATO Wales Summit results are the main topics of ongoing discussions. Deputy Minister of Defence Mikheil Darchiashvili, First Deputy Chief of GS Brigadier General Vladimer Chachibaia and State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Georgia Alex Petriashvili delivered speeches about the issues. The NGO representatives also expressed their positions. The workshop is being held upon the initiative of Information Centre on NATO and EU. Thirty journalists are taking part in the training. Within the frames of the training the guests will take view of Sachkhere Mountain Training School. The military will hold a demonstrative training exclusively for them.
