The EU Foreign Affairs Council will assess the implementation of the Ukrainian president's peace plan (determining the regime of restrictive measures against Russia) on Monday, October 20, at a meeting in Luxembourg, reports GHN based on Ukrinform.
"The Council will take stock of the situation in Ukraine, in all its aspects, including the implementation of the peace plan, support to the OSCE special monitoring mission and further assistance for Ukraine," reads the report.
Other issues put on the agenda of the meeting of foreign ministers of the EU member states include joint strategies to counter the spread of the Ebola virus disease, the situation in Libya, a terrorist threat from ISIL's activity in Iraq and Syria, and the situation in the Middle East peace process and Gaza.
A meeting of the EU-Tajikistan Cooperation Council will also be held.
As reported, the EU Council earlier decided to make an assessment of the situation in eastern Ukraine at the end of October, which determines the regime of restrictive measures against Russia. Economic sanctions could be strengthened, weakened, suspended or revoked.
