President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and German Chancellor Angela Merkel coordinated actions before the summit in Milan.
The presidential press service informed.
"Petro Poroshenko and Angela Merkel coordinated actions before the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Milan on October 16-17 and agreed to hold meetings both in bilateral and multilateral formats," a statement reads.
The President also informed the Chancellor of important laws, newly adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, bringing Ukraine closer to European standards.
"We failed to implement this for over 20 years. Finally, there is the political will - and we have made a decisive step to overcome even the Soviet legacy," Poroshenko said during a telephone call.
