In Sweden in the embassy of Georgia there was held meeting with the Association of Swedish Friends, reports GHN.
The meeting was dedicated to Georgian art and painting.
Swedish archaeologist and researcher of Georgian cuisine and traditions concerning Georgian wine professor Ulrika Soderlind presented to the society presentation about Niko Pirosmani.
Residents of the city Virsbu in Sweden, authors of the project of popularization of Georgian culture Stafan and Elsa Matsons talked about modern Georgian painting. They represented information about the exhibition of modern Georgian painters that was held in August in Virsbu with the support of embassy of Georgia.
The ambassador of Georgia delivered the speech; he talked about success of Georgia in the process of Euro integration and also about Swedish-Georgian bilateral relations.
After the meeting there was held the awarding ceremony of the association; the ceremony became already traditional and was founded two years ago.
For the special merit in Georgian-Swedish relations the ambassador awarded with memorable medals and diplomas members of association who were actively involved in popularization of Georgian culture in Sweden and also awarded Swedish doctors who implement in Georgia project of aid of deaf children.
At the end of the meeting embassy hosted guests with Georgian wine and cuisine.
The association was founded in 2009 and the aim of the association is to promote Swedish-Georgian relations. The embassy supports creation of such kind of organizations that aim popularization of Georgia in Sweden and collaborates with them actively.
