"With this agreement we are talking about lose of sovereignty," states so called speaker of Parliament of Abkhazia Valeri Bgangba and doesn't hide his dissatisfaction, reports GHN.
As he said everyone understands in Abkhazia that integration with Russia in necessary that Russia is their strategic ally, but at the same time it doesn't mean that "we shouldn't lose our sovereignty."
Valeri Bganba also states that he thinks that there was no need to sign new agreement with Russia and existing agreement was absolutely enough for "equal relations" of Abkhazia and Russia.
"There are more questions than answers. I always used to say that the agreement signed in 2008 is absolutely enough and it answers every demand. Besides for the development of this agreement is formed more than 80 additional agreements. It all just needed review and additions, nothing else," states Bganba and marks that he will avoid to use word "negative", but the reaction of every so called PM was exactly negative because "in many place of the agreement there is leads to losing sovereignty."
"Reaction of other PMs was the same. There are many questions, people are sitting and change something. I don't want to use such kind of formulation but attitude is "negative" but it must be said for the truth that reaction is near to negative, because on many place of the agreement there is talk about losing sovereignty.
That's why deputies couldn't have positive attitude without considering their political orientation. The big part of deputies doesn't agree with this version of the agreement," says Bganba and talks about those issue that provoked dissatisfaction of Abkhazian side:
"There is talking for example about creation of joint armed grouping and this is uncertain if we will have out ministry of defense with all its structures? There is talking that leadership of this grouping in case of aggression will come to Russia, also there is talk about customs control inside of country, in airport and Russian side is going to control it too. There is talk about dislocation of border service on Georgian-Abkhazian border. At the same time when we talk about port and airport the vector is directed inside of Abkhazia.
The cargo that comes in Abkhazia shouldn't be controlled by Russian side. This is job of our customs officers and border guards.
There are many things that are uncertain. For example standards of education: I don't know how Russian side can help us to develop standard of teaching Abkhazian language?
Also the agreement talks about Russian citizens who live permanently in Abkhazia, we have citizens who are not citizens of Russia.
We have many questions. We will try to make formation of every question in one or two weeks. I think that there will be made changes in every article because the agreement as it is right now is unacceptable.
We all understand that there is necessity of integration with Russia, that it is our strategic ally, but it doesn't mean that we have to lose our sovereignty," states Valeri Bganba.
