Heavy rain has inflicted serious damage to the Kakheti Region. The flood has damaged Telavi, gurjaani and Sighnaghi districts, particularly two villages of Gurjaani district, Akhalsheni and Velistsikhe.

The flow of water flooded the yeards and ground floors of the houses, agricultural lands, killed cattle and poultry. The heavy rain was followed by a windstorm, which tore down electrical wires leaving the region in blackout. One mast of the electrical network feel down on a house damaging its wall.

Gujaani district is still discontected from the system. The disaster has lso caused drinking water problems in the region. The storm has blocked movement on the roads too. Local authorities say over 300 families have been damaged due to the last night disaster.
