Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili attended the reception held on the vessel Mount Whitny of the US navy, reports GHN based on press service of the Prime Minister.
The Head of the Government addressed the audience gathered at the reception and stated that entering the US vessel in Georgia emphasizes the US steady support to security and stability in the Black Sea Region that Georgia welcomes and appreciates.
"The United states is the key ally and strategic partner of Georgia. Our friendship is based on mutual values and interests. Georgian people greatly appreciate the contribution and essential assistance of the US for our country in the most difficult situations", - Prime Minister stated.
The prime minister especially welcomed the member of the crew of the US vessel, Georgian officer Givi Tibaneli and stated that Georgia is proud of such children.
The head of the government was hosted on the US vessel by the captain and US ambassador Richard Norland. National anthems of Georgia and the US were performed.
The US vessel entered Batumi port on October 14. Mount Whitny is in territorial waters of Georgia for the third time.
Georgian officer Givi Tibaneli who is the member of the crew is on the US vessel Mount Whitny. The prime minister particularly welcomed him and stated that Georgia is proud of such children.

I am proud that the person born in Georgia who went to the US 10 years ago achieved such success and what is really important he has not forgotten his roots.
