South-Eastern Europe Defence Ministerial (SEDM) was held in Montenegro. Deputy Defence Minister of Georgia Mikheil Darchiashvili attended the meetings, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
When delivering speech at the Ministerial, Mikheil Darchiashvili focused on the significance of strengthening cooperation between South-Eastern European countries to overcome the security challenges in the region. As he outlined, Georgia`s full-fledged integration into SEDM will foster enhancing security and stability in the South-East Europe.
Within the format of SEDM the Georgian side has been participating in the capacity of an observer since 2006. This format serves promoting peace and security in the region as well as the participating countires` integration into Euro-Atlantic organizations. At this stage the procedures of Georgia`s integration into SEDM is in progress.
