New ambassador of European Union Ianosh Herman presented his credentials to the President of Georgia. The first person of the country marked that European Union is most important partner for Georgia and collaboration after signing of Association Agreement collaboration has more big importance, reports GHN.
Giorgi Margvelashvili and Ianosh Herman held meeting; the sides talked about implementation of Association Agreement, deepening of relations between Georgia and European Union and about events in the region. They talked about the agreement project of "alliance and integration" between Russian Federation and Abkhazia. As the President marked it is important to involve European Union and monitoring mission with the aim to provide with security in the region and also for de-escalation of the situation.
"We all understand importance of new form of our relation after signing of Association Agreement. We also understand that in nearest months we will have important possibility to make contribution in the direction of development, also in implementation of reforms and changes.
Georgia will become closer to European Union. Besides we had possibility to talk with the President Margvelashvili about internal processes of the country and also events in the region," stated ambassador of European Union.
Ianosh Herman is Hungarian diplomat. Before his assignment as ambassador he was special representative of European Union in Asia; in 2010-2013 years he was working as the head of the representation of European Union in Norway.
Ianosh Herman will begin to perform his duties in Georgia today.
