The Embassy of Italy in Georgia is pleased to announce that the 14th edition of International Italian Language Week will take place from October 20th to October 25th.
The theme for this year's edition is "Writing the New Europe: Italian editors, authors and readers in the Digital age". Events have been organized with the support of the Swiss Embassy in Georgia and the National Centre of Manuscripts.
The celebrations, which take place every year around the world, are sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ‘Accademia della Crusca', the society of Italian linguists and philologists. This year International Italian Language Week will also benefit from the high patronage of the Italian President of the Republic.
This year's events include: an exhibition on Italian-Georgian relations as told through the documentation of the National Centre of Manuscripts (Europe House, Tuesday October 21st at 6pm); a history course for Italian language teachers (Ilia State University, Monday, October 20th at 4pm); a screening of the film "Il Comandante e la Cicogna" (Rustaveli Cinema, Thursday October 23rd at 8pm).
