"The agreement offered by Russia to the occupation regime of Abkhazia will be one of the main subjects while relations between European Union and Russia"- stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maia Panjikidze in Luxemburg after the meeting with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the member countries of European Union, reports GHN.
Maia Panjikidze informed in details European colleagues about the danger and those risks that contains document offered by Russia. As the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia marked the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of European Union expressed concern that Russia is going on to punish Georgia for its European course. "We talked that this theme will be one of the main issues while relations between Russia and European Union and also between Russia and separate countries of Europe and that Europe will react on with common position," stated Maia Panjikidze. As she said Georgia as well as European Union is on the position that using force shouldn't be considered "not because that that Georgia has taken obligation not to use power, but also because that we consider that force can't solve the problem. We also talked that towards this agreement in Abkhazian society and in occupation regime there is negative attitude, because this agreement is not in coincidence with their interests and that Russia is interested only in annexation.
While talking with European counterparts about risks of this agreement Maia Panjikidze stated that it will harm not only format of Geneva negotiations but also will question one more direction of existed dialogue with Russia that is held is the frame of Karasin-Abashidze.
We remind that on October 20, 2014 in Luxemburg there was held informal meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia with Ministers of Foreign Affairs of member countries of European Union. The meeting was attended by higher representative of European Union of foreign affairs Federica Mogerine, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule and Helga Schmidt, head of the European External Action Service. Informal meeting was held with the initiative of Latvia which is future chairman country of European Union.
