General Philip Breedlove NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe and Commander of U.S. European Command has pays visit to Georgia. Today the NATO military official was received by the Minister of Defense of Georgia Irakli Alasania. On the meeting in the Ministry of Defense there were discussed issues of collaboration between NATO and Georgia, reports GHN.
The special attention was paid to the implementation of NATO-Georgia essential package that Georgia received in Wales Summit. On the meeting also was discussed the security situation in the region. The sides also talked about threats concerning Russian aggression and those steps that international society have to make for stability in the region. The sides also talked about reforms in the sphere of defense. They talked about participation of Georgia in international missions and future plans of collaboration. The meeting was attended by the NATO Liaison Office William Lahue and NATO Military Liaison Officer, Maximilian Eder. The Georgia side was represented by the Chief of Staff, General Mayor Vakhtang Kapanadze, the deputy Defense Minister Mikheil Darshiashili, also by heads of Defense Ministry and the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
In the frame of the visit General Philip Breedlove will meet the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and will visit Ivane Javakhishvili state University. NATO military official will read lecture for students of different institutes and will answer their questions.
NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Philip Breedlove will leave Georgia today.
