In Georgia will be created NATO training center, said the Minister of Defense of Georgia Irakli Alasania to our correspondent Svetlana Alimova. Tbilisi needs additional tools to defend its freedom. As the Minister of Defense states the pressure from Russia will not influence on the plan of Tbilisi to strengthen connection with the west. The Minister also states that for Georgia there is necessary to have additional level of security and additional possibilities of defense.
Irakli Alasania: "We are ready for the worst. Of course we have hopes that we will be able to avoid confrontation in future but if the situation gets worse we will need proper instruments to protect our freedom".
Svetlana Alimova: "This statement of the Minister of Defense of Georgia is determined by the plans of Russia: except of those military bases that is located in Abkhazia, Moscow wants to create additional Russian-Abkhazian military grouping, that is directed to bilateral connective defense. As Irakli Alasania marked Georgia is waiting for serious steps from Russia. Many Georgian experts are sure that the international agreement that Russia offered to Abkhazia is part of big strategy.

In this case Russia manipulates with these issues and tries to connect creation of NATO new center to the enlargement of the Alliance.
Svetlana Alimova: Tbilisi has good relations with Washington from 1991 when Georgia became independent after collapse of Soviet Union, however there must be marked that big part of the population of the country is against integration with the west.
