Within the framework of a two-day official visit to Georgia, Chief of General Staff of the Republic of Turkey, Army General Necdet Özel went to see the memorial of heroes who had fallen in the fight for the unity and territorial integrity of Georgia. Army General Necdet Özel held a minute of silence to pay tribute to the memory of the Georgian heroes and those ones who died in action in international missions and laid a wreath at the memorial, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
Together with the Turkish counterpart, Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major-General Vakhang Kapanadze paid a tribute to the memory of the Georgian heroes.
The MoD military brass band performed the Turkish and Georgian state anthems.
Chief of General Staff of the Republic of Turkey, Army General Necdet Özel will leave Georgia tomorrow.
